i am recapping a busy week now
·Fun times that must be documented!
It's been a hectic and packed week.
We had our team offsite in Hawaii from Saturday to Wednesday. Great food, great vibes, and just a great time overall.
Brayann cooked some incredible food. Bell peppers with cheese and egg inside, bacon wrapped sausages... his wife is a lucky woman.
I enjoyed playing beach volleyball and beating everybody at Smash.
I also got high for like half of the nights - Michael brought some kick-ass edibles that gave me a really pleasant high.
During the offsite, I also FaceTimed Grace for the first time. It felt like a nice, natural next step in our relationship.
I almost didn't make it to Hawaii! Tae and I got to the airport pretty late and I brought the wrong suitcase that was too big for a carry-on.
The attendant at the security line wouldn't let me go through. Then the Alaska Airlines rep said that it was too late to check my bag!
Thankfully, an incredible employee at Guest Services was able to book me on a later flight that day, check my bag (and waive the fee!), and give me a free upgrade to Economy Plus!
I arrived at Kauai a few hours after the rest of the team.
For the flight back, I made sure to get there on time. I also spoke to an employee at the terminal and was able to get Neema and I seats in the exit row (another free upgrade!). The flight wasn't too full, so the whole row in front of us was empty as well. We each took a row of seats and got to live large.
We got back pretty late on Wednesday, so Thursday was rough. Worked remote for the first part of the day and came into the office during the afternoon.
On Friday, I got to see Grace! I had gotten her a Hawaii-themed bookmark as a gift during the offsite. She seemed to really appreciate it.
We went to her friend Iván's housewarming party that night. I got to talk with some pretty cool people and exchanged contacts with a guy named Rolan. We're planning on going for a run + food next week.
The housewarming party was followed by a trip to a nearby bar, then a quick stop at Bob's Donuts where Grace and I shared a maple long john. That was my first donut in forever! It was pretty good.
I stayed the night at Grace's place. Saturday was our 1 month anniversary!
I started the day by first heading home to freshen up and grab the necessary equipment. I had planned for us to go to Steinhart Aquarium followed by relaxing at Golden Gate Park while playing We're Not Really Strangers (Couples Edition).
Things went so smoothly. The card game arrived right before I got home (Amazon making good on its 2-day delivery estimate). I did my self-care routine, got the necessary equipment, stopped by the dispensary to pick up edibles, and went back to her place.
We got bagels as breakfast before taking a Waymo to the aquarium (also popped the edibles). After getting dropped off by the Waymo, we were walking to the Aquarium and heard jazz music playing. I commented on it, and in perfect timing the jazz music suddenly stopped. It was a funny moment that we both laughed at.
The aquarium was pretty fun. They had a butterfly exhibit and some cool looking fish. We both thought there were a bit too many kids. We also watched a show about outer space - I felt pretty sleepy during it.
Afterwards, we got a hotdog and pretzel before laying out the picnic blanket and playing the card game. It was such a great time! I feel like we really got to know each other better through some of the questions.
Afterwards, we decided to get Korean food at a place called Um Ma. We had taken some more edibles and I was really feeling it this time. Grace was able to take charge and order for us.
The food was bangin' - afterwards, we went back to her place and walked over to the ferry building to take pics at a photo booth. The first one didn't go as planned, but the second one turned out great. I loved both of them and it was a great way to commemorate our 1 month anniversary!
We then walked back and finished up this pretty crappy movie that we were watching on and off. I just Googled it and it was called Regretting You. It was fun making fun of the characters with Grace. We went to bed right after.
On Sunday, we got brunch! Grace got an açai bowl and I got a mid omelette with toast and fruit. I then went home to do laundry and chill for a bit.
Afterwards, I met up with Grace and her friend Daniel at Dolores Park. We had a good time vibing and got pho for dinner.
Grace and I then went back to her place. We got intimate and I lasted the shortest I ever have in my life. Literally like 30 seconds. I thought the second time would go better but I might have lasted even shorter than the first.
We laughed it off and I appreciate that Grace handled it so well. Next time I shall return to form!
Overall, just an action-packed and fun week. I'm glad it turned out the way it did, but I am going to get back on track with my sleep, diet, and exercise habits. I feel the best when I'm dialed in, and it's time to do so.
My routine grounds me. It keeps me stable. It facilitates the best version of myself. I am capable of getting back into it easily.
I am excited for what's to come!
