I am thinking about a great night now
·August 12 hangout
Got to her place at 8:07pm.
I had gone to Whole Foods beforehand and bought her flowers, a slice of berry chantilly cake, and two yams.
I am waiting outside the entrance of her apartment complex. There's a set of clear glass doors that serve as the gate. I see her walking up to let me in.
She looks great. Bob haircut with some curls at the end. White sleeveless top. Wow!
I am happy to see her. She looks happy to see me. It's hard to stop smiling.
We walk through the courtyard, go inside, and take the elevator up to her place. We unbox my presents. She seems happy about them.
After storing the slice of cake in the fridge and the yams in the pantry, we head to her bedroom. I get to hear about her weeklong trip to NYC.
She had caught up with friends, eaten lots of good food, saw a BTS concert, a Broadway show, and got a haircut (hence the bob).
She was staying over at a friend's place for the trip. One night, her friend bumped her in bed and she screamed. I think that's hilarious.
I tell her about my week. Game night with roommates, pickleball destruction, and marathon training.
She goes to the bathroom to pee. I do the same after her.
Then we really get to catch up!
Afterwards, we cuddle. We then share the slice of berry chantilly cake and put one of the yams in the air fryer.
We head back to her bedroom. She asks a really great question.
"What did you learn from your past relationships?"
That makes me do some self-reflection. I tell her that I learned what I look for in a partner and how to communicate better.
I tell her about the issues I faced with my ex. I am conscious about not talking down about her, but rather analyzing it from a neutral post-mortem angle.
I ask her what she's learned. She says that she's learned more about what she looks for and also how she's dealt with past commitment issues.
It's a great conversation and I feel more connected to her.
We go back to the kitchen to eat the yam that's been cooking. It's yummy.
Post-yam, we cuddle again and catch up once more. I enjoy just being around her. It makes me feel relaxed and re-energized.
It's now 12:25am - time for me to head back home. She walks me to the elevator and makes a joke that she's sending me off to school (I'm wearing my backpack).
I ask her if she can give me lunch money. She tells me the bullies will probably steal it. I tell her that I'll need to eat lunch in the bathroom again.
We share a quick kiss before I head out. Such fun! I can't wait to see her again.
